Woke up today and felt older-
Put out the grass and alfalfa for the horses-
cleaned the stalls- fed the dog.
Felt the fall but the sun came up-
after all.
In the shower- shaved my face- saw
the days falling soon into place-
Get dressed- found my hat-
The smell of coffee brewin'- bacon sizzlin-
took me back.
Sweet morning smile- woman in the kitchen-
Grabbing my hand- sitting me down-
Her glowing face- no make up- to be found.
Pink lips- happy morning kiss-
